But... why do I need a toner?? Toner regulates your pH levels— period. Your skin doesn’t know what is going on after cleansing; most cleansers are either too acidic or too alkaline. Toner, with it’s main purpose of balancing, removes any excess medium off of the face. Don’t believe me, look at your used cotton round after toning the skin! Take a pic and tag me— @theresheglows.black #posttone

A gentle, oil-free, glycolic, astringent toner and freshener for normal to dry and sensitive skin types. It  helps tone and firm the skin, tighten pores, and smooth the appearance of the skin, giving it a finer, softer texture... revealing overtime, a new you.

5% AHA AHA stands for Alpha Hydroxy Acid— you may have heard of BHA it’s cousin. These are umbrella terms for whether an acid is oil or water soluble. AHAs are water-soluble chemical exfoliants, aiding in removing dead skin cells and jump staring the skin’s natural cell turnover rate (how quickly your skin renews itself). The average adults skin takes about 30 days or so to shed its top few layers. Adding something like my 5% AHA toner to your regimen will increase this time, almost cutting it in half!

  • Dark marks... Gone!
  • That hormonal pimple... Shrunkedt!!
  • Those fine lines... Melted!
  • That dullness... Brought back to life!

IngredientsGinseng is a natural supplier of oxygen to the skin cells. Accumulation of dead cells causes the skin to appear rough, dull, and aged. Glycolic Acid and Ammonium Glycolate (5%) help the skin loosen this excess accumulation of dead skin cells to a natural rate of exfoliation. It also helps diminish post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (caused by acne and picking), superficial sun damage and reduces the appearance of fine lines.

Directions: (to tone) Spray quarter-sized amount on to two cotton rounds. Gently wipe your face, neck and décolleté in an upward-outward motion. DO NOT skip the back of your neck, hairline, ears, lips, eyelids, and eyebrows!!! Toning is always done right before you put your moisturizers and/or serums on. If you are going to mask apply the toner before and after! (To set/prime) Spray toner 2 inches near the face in the air like the Bougie Bish you are and allow the soft mist to cascade on your face like a commercial! Look at yourself in the mirror and say... “You are THAT GIRL”

Pro tip— spray in mask to prevent breakouts!

Freaquently asked questions

What I Hear Most As A Licensed Esthetician...

How often should I do my skincare routine?

This is a great question and one of the most frequent questions I get from my clients. The truth is, you know your skin best and you also have a very unique lifestyle. I recommend 1-2 times day day but you can always adjust your routine based on your workout regimen and makeup use.

Do I need to double cleanse my skin— if so how often?

Double cleansing is all the rage now! I highly recommend that you practice double cleansing if you workout, wear makeup and sunscreen. The reason being is that you really do not get off these kinds of barriers with just one cleanse. Double cleansing with an oil based cleanser first and then a gentle foaming cleanser immediately after ensures that your skin is clean clean!

Do I need a moisturizer if I have oily skin?

To be less vague— moisturizing is soooooo importmant and especially if you have oily skin. Contrary to what you’ve been told or may be assuming, oily skin is screaming moisturizer. Drying out your oily skin only triggers it— creating a domino effect of sebum over production. Applying a light emollient cream will occlude the skin keeping in moisture without causing over production throughout the day.

I don’t use a toner— should I?

If I had a dollar for every time I heard this question, I’d be Rihanna Rich! The answer is yes, you should absolutely be toning your skin right after you cleanse. The reason being is that your skin’s pH level is typically effected by your clesanser and toning helps to regulate it back down/up to the happy medium of 5.5-6.5. Toning also ensures that your cleanser is actually removed fully!
